If you have accepted a job that requires live-saving, first aid, or CPR, you will probably have need to locate a class offering first aid & CPR certification. Ask your boss or supervisor if they have a schedule for the basic classes so you can get the necessary certification. You will need to take the class seriously and be prepared to take a test at the end in order to pass the training and receive your certificate. Paramedics, lifeguards, teenagers and adults that provide safeguarding services, including babysitting and teaching, may all be required to learn how to save somebody drowning, how to tend to a cut in the wilderness, and what to do if somebody is burned. Many places will have a rescue supply kit available to anyone that needs help. Some of these kits will have a small AED, also known as a defibrillator, which sends an electrical shock through the chest wall to the heart. If you aren't sure how to use this type of machine you can learn how by taking a first aid and CPR class. Instructions will often be labeled on the machine but knowing the correct way to use it could be vital. Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation will include learning how to clear an airway. Rescue breathing will give you instructions on how to help somebody who has become unconscious. When an emergency is taking place it may be hard to remember everything you have learned during a course. Remain calm and you will then remember the steps you must take. If your workplace requires you to take a safety and rescue course, look online to find when the next local course will be. Training will help teach you how to take care of burns and cuts
